Why 1 Year + 1 Month?
Since I was really busy on July 26th, 2007 I decided to delay my blog’s 1 year anniversary post 1 month. This is that post.
The Year in Review
It’s amazing that I have been doing my blog for over a year now. It really does not feel that long. Certainly if I was not able to monetize my blog with PayPerPost and Google Adsene I may not have gone this long.
Over the year my blog has seen many changes. For the heart of my content, as of late, I have decided to mostly come up with intelligent ways to talk about Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell. Then, there is of course the other ’stuff’ a lot of which is paid content or my general thoughts about movies, video games, and life in general.
When recently asked about my greatest accomplishments, having made $1000 on the internet in a little more than a year ranks very high on the list. Probably 90-95% of that $1000 is revenue from my blog.
If I could change anything it would be to find ways to get more people to comment on my blog. I often like responding to comments more than writing new posts. Thanks in part to my friend Bush Mackel and my new friends Opal Tribble and Chuck I’ve decided to seriously clean up and refine the content that goes on my blog. This means that at least for awhile I will once again be a little more selective with paid posts. I am hoping this will help me establish my audience better and get return visitors which will hopefully comment.
The Future
The other important thing I want to try to do is add pictures to nearly ever post to spice them up a little bit.
In the past couple of weeks I hope you have seen some of these changes starting to show up. You don’t know how much I have been tempted to make the following 3 posts all about the number 3: The Green Bay Packers and I share 3-0 records in Football and Fantasy Football, I beat Halo 3 Campaign on Normal already, and I’m taking my 3-2 record to another Brewer Game. I did not make those posts because I really want to establish my audience as Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell fans.
As you know, I bought Keirablog.com. I have decided that at some point I will most likely remove/forward all my Keira Knightley and Keeley Hazell stuff to there and turn apexad.net into a personal blog about sports and video games. That’s a bit far off though. Within the end of next week though, apexad.net will get a new theme.
Creating a ‘Keira Blog’ for cheap!
As you know, apexad.net now has an alternate address. So now it’s officially a ‘keira blog’. I wanted to get a better domain name for it, so I want to godaddy.com to perform a search to see what names related to ‘keira’ were available. When GoDaddy recommended ‘keirablog.com’ I thought it had read my mind. So, I then went to my host and registered the domain. That was before I knew that there are GoDaddy coupons which I just found out about today. The coupons are provided by gogoshopper.com and they also have coupons for normal stores like Target so not only can you use them to create a ‘keira blog’ for cheap, but also to get Keira product from stores cheaper. Of course they’ve also got coupons that work on other products not related to Keira for those who are not so obsessed like me. Be sure to check the site out! You will not regret it.
Go see Silk
Since I did a post like this for Atonement I figured I should do one for this movie as well. It’s yet another Keira Knightley movie that should be coming to a theater near you but might not due to the fact that it’s a bit of an independent film that actually premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada.
Here is the plot synopsis (thanks to imdb):
Based on the Alessandro Baricco’s novel this is the story of a married silkworm smuggler, Herve Joncour, in 19th Century France who travels to Japan to collect his clandestine cargo. While there he spots a beautiful Japanese woman, the concubine of a local baron, with whom he becomes obsessed. Without speaking the same language, they communicate through letters until war intervenes. Their unrequited love persists however, and Herve’s wife Helene begins to suspect.
Besides Keira Knightley you may also recognize Kenneth Welsh in the movie. He has starred in things like Stargate: Atlantis (great TV series!) and The Aviator. Micheal Pitt, who was in The Village and Murder by Numbers, also stars in the movie and I am guessing he may even lock lips with Keira at some point. The picture below is Micheal Pitt and Keira.
I’m working on trying to see the movie myself. If I get to see it, I will write a follow up review to this post. That goes for Atonement as well.
Keira Knightley needs no plastic surgery..do you?
A beautiful actress like Keira Knightley genuinely seems perfect. Now, the title is of course a bit misleading, because I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Keira Knightley could benefit from some breast implants (Keira breasts are her only flaw). So, that proves, that even perfection can be made better.
Have you ever considered plastic surgery? Perhaps you’re an attractive person, but there is something you’d like changed. Most people have at least one thing like this. Who knows, you could even end up looking like Keira Knightley or a different actress. Sadly, Keira Knightley is against plastic surgery, and that has to be respected, but, as you well know a large majority of Hollywood is not opposed to it and you’d actually be surprised how cheap its getting. More and more ‘normal’ people are getting plastic surgery. Think about it, how many TV reality shows are there about plastic surgeons now?
Keira Knightley 2008 Calendar
It’s never to soon to plan ahead for 2008. Thanks to Keiraweb.com for reminding me of this fact. With about only 3 months left in 2007 manufacturers have started making 2008 calendars. For Keira, there are several different choices available.
