My Dad doesn’t like Father’s day
Why, you ask? Well, let me tell the great stories. Last year my Dad went fishing the week previous to Father’s day. He was driving home father’s day Sunday and Oil Pump blew it out in his van. I had to drive 5 hours up and 5 hours back home (10 hours total) to go get him. With a blown oil pump the van was totaled. Luckily that trip was suppose to be the last 1 for the van anyway. My Dad had already bought it’s replacement. Besides, there was always next year’s father’s day to look forward too, right?
Well, this father’s day my Dad and I decided to go fishing early in the morning. We stop at the ‘Live Bait’ place to get some bait. I waited in the car for my Dad. He came back out, tried to start up the truck (the one that replaced the van, that he has now had for only 1 year), and it won’t start. According to my Dad he was having trouble starting it for a few days, but noticed the back light was left on last night, so the hope was that was the why it was having trouble. After trying to jump the battery hoping that was the reason it would not start, we had no success. So, on father’s day instead of going fishing we had to have my Mom come get us. My sister’s husband came and towed the boat back to our house with his truck. My Dad got a replacement starter hoping that is the problem but it’s not in yet.
I’ll keep you all updated and let you know when the new starter is in. Nevertheless, 2 bad father’s days in a row. That’s why my Dad doesn’t like father’s day.
