The real RSS icon + sidebar updates

There it is, in all it’s glory! RSS, which stands for Real Simple Syndication is a great way to preview the posts of a blog without needing to go there. RSS_(file_format) on wikipedia provides alot more information. To download the files to make your own RSS icon, go to feedicon.com. Normally, the standard icon is orange, but I decided to spice mine up a bit to match my site a little better.
I’ve just updated my sidebar to display the real RSS feed icon(spiced up to a green) instead of the not so eye-catching feedburner box. I also added a “My AOL” button and a “subscribe in Bloglines” button for anyone who uses those services.

My take on cloned animal meat in stores
If you haven’t heard of this yet, I suggest this BBC Article. There are 2 main points to the article. The first is:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that cloned cattle, pigs and goats produced food “as safe as the food we eat every day”.
Then, the second point is the opposition to this ruling by the FDA:
But consumer groups were less keen on the ruling, which could see the US become the first country to allow cloned food products into the food supply.
Carol Foreman, of the Consumer Federation of America, described the ruling as potentially “a very bad decision”.
“We are urging people to write to the FDA, to members of Congress, to urge them to tell the FDA to back off,” she told the AFP news agency.
Personally, I don’t understand what the difference between cloned animals and non-cloned ones are. In fact, I think I would actually prefer cloned animal meat; I would assume that the animals will be cloned because the quality of their meat is above that of other animals who don’t get cloned. Cloning is really no different then breading of good racing horses to make new generations of horses. Cloned animals obviously present no health risks since they’re exactly the same as the orignal animal, who surely was healthy to eat. I really can’t think of anything bad about cloning animals that produce, leaner, or better tasting meat. I think this Carol Foreman, or certainly someone along the chain probably has connections to groups like PETA who fail to see that animals are for eating, and if there are ways to make them taste better, we should use these ideas.
What do you think about it?
Tag Your it
In the world of blogging, there is a game going on called: Tag Your It.
I got tagged by my friend Nomar. I guess the rules say I have to list all my 2007 goals (related to my internet projects).
So here are my 2007 goals:
- Finish restaurantselector.com
- Finish craftyamee.com
- Get my blog more popular
- Continue to expand the ‘apexad network’
- Increase my adsense revenue over all of my sites
To contuniue the game, I have to tag several people and challenge them to write their 2007 goals. The people I am tagging are: Ryan, Bryan, Kelli, and Michelle D. (even though she doesn’t currently have a blog).
A bad christmas eve and day
This Christmas turned out pretty bad for me. On Christmas eve my dad dislocated his shoulder, so I spent all night at the hospital. My dad stayed over night. On Christmas day, since my dad did not get home early enough, we moved Christmas until tomorrow.
On top of all that, in fantasy football I had a playoff meltdown. I lost both playoff games to end the season in 4th place.
Here’s to hoping tomorrow brings some good things!
Breakpoint Designs
I would like to announce a new group that a few friends and me have started. Although, I had really no say in the name, I like what it stands for, so I decided to give it some props. Wondering what is? It’s a Web Development group. If you need a website, Breakpoint Designs is the place to go!
I am one of the programmers in for the group. In general, on most projects I work on, I handle PHP, html tables, css, and MySQL database setup. (but I am not available for every project, and so other coders handle these things)
