I got beat, by a girl
This season in NFL Fantasy Football I have been trying to reach 100 points in 1 week since the beginning. I came the closest anyone in our league has come this week, hitting 97. That was before Monday night when the Patriots shut down Minnesota. That was before the New England defense scored 16 Fantasy points to give “a clueless, good guessing girl” (by her own admission) a total of 101pts for the week.
She’s the only girl in the Fantasy Football League I am in, started the season 1-3, and with some help from me and her brother got on the winning trail. She’s now doing it all by herself though, and winning. It’ll be 4 in a row actually. I play her in week 11. I’m scared. ![]()
I’m 6-2 in NFL Fantasy Football, still can’t break 100
This week, I was predicted to lose 66-76. I ended up winning 97-71, and I’m happy about it. That 100 point week is still eluding me though. This week I started Drew Brees over Rex Grossman. Had I started Grossman, 101 points. I started Robbie Gould over a healthy Adam Vinateri, who also would have given me 4 points more, for 101. I even could have started Frank Gore in place of Marques-Jones Drew and hit 100. I’ll do it one of these weeks, I hope!
The NFL is sold out this year

It’s unprecedented. And it’s still going.
All games of the NFL schedule for this Sunday and Monday, Oct. 29 and 30 (Week 8), have sold out in advance of the local TV blackout deadline. That means every NFL game this weekend will be televised in the home-team market for an unprecedented eighth straight week.
Every game this season has been sold out at least 72 hours in advance and televised locally. Previously, the most sellout weekends in one season was four in 2004 and 2005.
It will be the 21st time since the NFL blackout policy took effect in 1973 that blackouts have been lifted for all games on a single weekend. The 21 times have been once in 1998; three times in 2000; once in 2001; four times in 2002 and 2005; and eight times this season.
The NFL blackout policy states that games sold out 72 hours prior to kickoff can be televised in the home city.
I just read this on NFL.com and it makes me very happy. The National Football League continues to show that it deserves to be called “America’s Sport” instead of baseball. I mean seriously, if they had a football category in the Olympics who honestly thinks that any other country could touch us. It would not even be funny. Although, I suppose that some of our players do infact originate from other countries. One that I have in my head, is Samkon Gado (Houston Texans Running back) who is originally from Nigeria.
Movie Review: Fantastic Four
![]()
I saw this movie for the first time only a couple of weeks ago, got a little bored and decided to post a review of it.
In general, I am not a fan of Hollywood all of a sudden making every comic book into a movie, as it shows a clear answer to a growing problem in Hollywood: lack of new ideas. However, unlike some, I do believe that this one does in fact deliver. Everyone knows about the Fantastic four. A freak accident in space causes the team to be exposed to radiation, which alters there genetic makeup, giving them special powers.
Some of the team members embrace their powers, use them to help, some use them for monetary gain, some wish they did not have them. In the end though, it is a classic battle of good and evil. Naturally, like most movies you can predict that in the end good will win, but this movie packs enough fun and excitement throughout that you at least doubt that conclusion from time to time.
Th movie has it’s fair share of great actors as well, many who came from successful TV Series including Jessica Alba of “Dark Angel” (who is in my header!), Michael Chiklis of “The Shield”, and Julian McMahon of “Nip/Tuck”. Needless to say, they make the transition well, and this is a great movie.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
It’s not over for the Green Bay Packers
So, what does last week’s win mean for the Green Bay Packers? A lot more then you think. There are plenty of statistics that say a team that’s 1-4 has no chance of making the playoffs. In my opinion, that is hogwash. The Packers won last week against the Miami Dolphins, putting them at 1-4. They’re next opponent is Arizona at Lambeu field, followed by the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo (or wherever it is that they play). Assuming they win those 2 games, that’s 4-4.
Then, in a row, we play the Vikings, Seattle, and New England. The Seattle Seahawks are beat up a ton, and whenever the Minnesota Vikings play the Green Bay Packers you can always throw out records, because everyone comes to play. As for New England, I’m not about to say the Packers are going to be favored in this game, but I don’t think New England is going to slaughter the Packers either. Let’s give it a reasonable estimate, and say the packers win 2 out of 3 of these games, that’s 6-5.
Next up is the Jets, 49ers, and Lions. I could say a ton here, but let’s just say this: win, win win. That’s 9-5.
Last but not least we have the Minnesota Vikings, followed by the Chicago Bears. As I said before with the Vikings, everyone will come to play this game, and it’s anybodies guess who will win. However, in times when it mattered, during the season (post-season is another story), the Packers have beat the Vikings, and I expect the same this time. As for the Bears, you can look all you want at the game when we first played them, but you can also look at that Arizona Cardinals game. The Bears narrowly escaped a loss, and they’re weaknesses were exposed. Can the Packers take advantage of it? I hope so. Even still, the Packers could defy odds an d post either a 10-6 record or 11-5. Both of which could snatch a Wild Card spot.
So don’t count them out yet!
